What is Sexual Addiction?

Sexual addiction—often referred to as compulsive sexual behavior—describes a pattern of persistent, escalating sexual behaviors that continue despite relational, emotional, or professional consequences. Individuals struggling with this pattern often feel a growing disconnect between their actions and their core values. While the behavior may temporarily regulate stress, anxiety, or loneliness, it ultimately reinforces shame, secrecy, and attachment rupture. Effective treatment addresses not only the behavior itself, but the underlying nervous system dysregulation, attachment wounds, and protective strategies driving the cycle.

Sex Addiction Therapy for High-Integrity Men

Dr. Jamie Gibbs, PhD, LPC, CSAT, CST — Licensed Psychotherapist

I provide specialized sex addiction therapy for adult men who feel out of alignment with their sexual behavior and their core values.

My practice serves men who:

  • Struggle with compulsive sexual behavior (pornography, affairs, anonymous sex, chronic secrecy)

  • Experience shame, double-life stress, or relational damage

  • Want deep, structured change — not surface-level behavior control

  • Are ready to take responsibility and engage in consistent therapeutic work

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Certified Sex Therapist (CST). I am licensed to provide psychotherapy to residents of Colorado, Florida, Texas, Virginia, and Vermont. Telehealth sessions are available where permitted.

This work is designed for men who value integrity, leadership, and relational repair — and who are willing to examine the nervous system patterns, attachment wounds, and protective strategies driving compulsive behavior.
